The Govanhill Cookery Exchange

We ran a 10 week cookery exchange project from January - April 2023 . The project was made up of 4 participants from Syria, Ireland, Mexico and Scotland.

The project:

  • for the first 4 weeks a different participant taught the group a recipe from their culture at Milk Cafe's catering kitchen in Govanhill

  • the group then made a recipe book together, designed by participant T, and printed by Tender Hands Press

  • finally, the group cooked the recipe book for a big community meal at The Point in Govanhill, where copies were also handed out to attendees
